Join the Friends of Johnston County Parks and MST Trashy Ladies for a roadside cleanup in southern Johnston County!

The cleanup will start at Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center at 9:30 AM and we plan to finish at 12:00 PM. We will be cleaning up Devil’s Racetrack Road, which is part of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST). All ages are welcome, but be aware that this is a rural road that has traffic; all safety measures will be taken to ensure safe conditions.

Please plan to meet at the parking lot at Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center (address6601 Devil’s Racetrack Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524) around 9:30 AM to get a briefing from our crew on safety and what is expected, plus fill out the sign in sheet. We plan to start the workday at 10 AM sharp to ensure we have enough time to finish and respect participants’ time. We will provide all the necessary gear including vests, grabbers, and bags. After the workday, we will have a closing session where we will share the importance of picking up trash and its effects on the local environment and watershed. Hikers should expect to bring water, proper walking gear, and anything else you need to enjoy this hike.

Please fill out all the roadside registration form here to join and we hope to see you the morning of November 2nd!

Thank you,
Jennifer and Iwona
