This walk will feature subtle fall colors as we walk among the mixed hardwood pine forests and down into a few cypress gum swamps. The terrain is occasionally hilly with short but moderately strenuous climbs. The walk is planned to be 5 miles.

Meet at the parking area on NC 306. The parking area is 2 miles north of NC 101. From Havelock, take NC 101 east to NC 306 then turn left on NC 306. Go 2 miles to the gravel lot on the right. From Beaufort, take NC 101 west to NC 306. Turn right on NC 306, go 2 miles to the gravel parking lot on the right.

Wear sturdy walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather, including light rain if forecast.
