Please join Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail (FMST) Volunteers and other experienced trail maintainers to help with trailwork at South Mountains State Park! Now is the time we all can give back to the park after the Chestnut Knob fire this fall.
No experience is required! FMST and South Mountains State Park will provide TOOLS and experienced CREW LEADERS. We’ll be digging, raking, cutting roots, and trimming brush. There will be a job for everyone no matter what their experience level. We will work until 1 pm.
Park staff will be transporting volunteers to the worksite. The hike in will range from 0.5 to 1.25 miles. We’ll be working on lower Possum Trail. Bring a daypack with gloves, fluids, and snacks.
Meet at 8:30 at Jacob Fork parking area all the way into South Mtn SP – NOTE: Go past Visitor Center to end of road.
**RSVP is needed for tools, crew assignment, and contact if cancellation due to weather. Weather cancellation will be sent via email by 9 pm on Friday, February 17th. If nothing is sent out we will be working!!!!!!!!!**
