We made a lot of progress on trail improvements on the Laurel Bluff Trail on our workdays in April:

Extension of a puncheon and the addition of a 2nd puncheon to improve a wet area of the trail near Marker 122

Building a reroute to replace a steep (fall-line) section- The reroute includes three switchbacks and is before Marker 120

We will continue doing trail maintenance / improvements on the Laurel Bluff Trail. We may also work on another one of the trails we maintain depending on the number of volunteers planning to participate on the workday. As is usually the case the weather condition leading up to and expected on 5/13/23 may impact what task we work on.

Please let me know if you plan to attend by Tuesday 5/9/2023.  I use the information to plan the workday and plan for biscuits.

Health and Safety:

Bring: water, work gloves, appropriate clothes, work shoes, snack and/or lunch. Also bring insect repellent or wear protection clothing. If you are new to trail work, there will be an experienced volunteer to work with you.

Tools: We have tools; but if you have a favorite tool for maintaining the trail bring it. If there is a need for specific tools I will email those volunteers coming a couple of days before the workday.
