Croatan Trail Workday – Segment 16
March 14 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Meet at Oyster Point Trailhead which is at the entrance to Oyster Point Campground
The work will consist of picking up waste and trash, putting in blazes, and possibly replacing boards on boardwalks and or bridge repairs. Please let Roger know if you plan to attend. His email address and phone is a the bottom of this post.
Wear long sleeves and long pants, sturdy work boots/shoes, gloves and appropriate protective equipment for their assigned tasks (eg eyewear if hammering nails).
Crawling and flying biting critters will be emerging from a long winter’s nap hungry so plan accordingly. We will work until the work is complete or 4 pm so workers should have water, snacks, and personal items as needed.
Workers will be able to work at their pace and ability. There will be no pressure to hurry or over exert. We will have first aid equipment and first responders in the work groups if needed but encourage volunteers to be aware and honest about any health issues that might put them at risk.
Questions and commitments should be directed to Roger Mays, Segment 16 Task Force Leader, at rmays52@yahoo.com or 252 723 1612
