National Trails Day and Asheville Area Trail Workday

This is National Trails Day and our second Quarterly Crew work day of the year. We will  continue work on the trail to the top of Water Rock Knob.

Meet first at the Home Depot in West Asheville off I-40 exit 44 (Enka-Candler) on the hill behind McDonalds. Please arrive by 8:20 so we can sign everyone up, organize carpools and visit with each other. We’ll then leave promptly at 8:30. Our second meeting place will be the parking lot at the Water Rock Knob visitors center, mile post 451.2 at 9:15. We will return to the Home Depot by 3:00. If you are having trouble finding us, Les’s cell is 828-230-1861.

Please wear sturdy boots, bring work gloves, lunch and plenty of water. If you have a hazel hoe, please bring it, but we will have plenty of tools if you do not.

For the celebration of National Trails Day, we will be drawing for trail prizes after our work is done.

If you are not a CMC member, please join on line – it is a great organization and you will be glad you did. But, you do not have to be a member to come on these work days. We will have release forms you can fill out before we start work. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian with you.
