Alamance County Trail Workday
January 18, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The AC team is working on trail along the HAW River. Details TBD.
What to Bring: Tools will be provided, but if you prefer your own tools please feel free to bring them. If you have loppers, heavy yard rakes, hand clippers please bring them with you. Also bring water and snacks, insect repellant and work gloves. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, gloves, and long-sleeve shirts due to the poison ivy risk.
Safety: Use tools carefully and ask questions as needed. Please keep sufficient distance between you and the next volunteer (10 feet) so that we do not hit one another with tools. If someone is injured please let your team leader know and they can contact me. When walking past another volunteer, let them know that you are near. Please do not do any overhead swinging of sharp tools like axes, Pulaskis, or fire rakes. Please do not lift anything beyond your comfortable limit. Only carry a maximum of 2 tools at a time. Take plenty of breaks and water breaks as needed. Be aware of ticks, chiggers, snakes, stinging insects, and poison ivy.
Cancellation: If the workday is cancelled due to bad weather an email will be sent no later than 8 PM the preceding day.
