In Segment 10, the MST between Cole Mill Rd. and Guess Rd. within Eno River State Park (Segment 10 EB Miles 4.8-8.6, WB Miles 70.0-73.9; (FarOut EB Miles 573.8-577.4, WB Miles 595.1-598.7) is closed due to damage from Tropical Storm Chantal. Until the trail reopens, use the following detour:

Eastbound Directions

0.0           At Mile 4.8, as you approach the Cole Mill Rd. bridge, turn right off the trail and walk up to the road, then turn left on Cole Mill Rd. and carefully cross the bridge over the river.

0.4           At the next traffic light, turn right on Umstead Rd.

3.0           Turn right on Heritage Dr., a residential street flanked by low decorative walls near the intersection.

3.3           At the first 4-way intersection, turn left on Stacy Dr., which will become Open Air Camp Rd.

3.9           At the traffic light, turn right on Guess Rd.

4.3         Just before the bridge over the Eno River, turn right onto a footpath to rejoin the guide route at Mile 8.6.

Westbound Directions

0.0           At Segment 10 Mile 70.0, instead of turning right on Guess Rd., turn left.

0.3           At the first traffic light, turn left on Open Air Camp Rd., which will become Stacy Dr.

1.0           Tun right on Heritage Rd.

1.3           At T-intersection, turn left on Umstead Rd.

3.9           At the traffic light, turn left on Cole Mill Rd.

4.3           Just past the bridge over the Eno River (cross carefully), turn right and walk parallel to the road toward the river, then turn left on the trail to rejoin the guide route at Mile 73.9.
